About

What is CMYK?

Come join us on Saturday, November 14th, and learn more about design from experienced professionals and face off against other UC Berkeley students in a friendly virtual competition.

Regardless of your experience, CMYK is tailored to you. We’ll be joined by a collection of keynote speakers from across the professional world, including BART, Google, and more!

CMYK is your chance to connect to the larger Berkeley community over Zoom and work with a team to help out Bay Area Rapid Transit on a special design prompt. If your design ends up winning and gets implemented, you and your teammates will be able to split a $1,000 cash prize!

Get ready for a day of learning, exploring and letting your creativity run wild — Come Make Your marK!

CMYK 2020 is hosted on Zoom by Innovative Design, UC Berkeley’s premiere creative agency. Learn more about us at innovativedesign.club.

Who is the client?

With over 50 stations and 131 miles of tracks, the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit is one of the largest public transit systems in the United States. BART operates in five counties (San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara), and prior to COVID-19, completed over 400,000 trips every day.

For more than 45 years BART has provided fast, reliable transportation to downtown offices, shopping centers, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, universities and other destinations for Bay Area residents and visitors alike.

BART’s ongoing goal is to help move the Bay Area forward, together. By efforts large and small, they seek to improve Bay Area life through encouraging everyone to ride BART, thereby reducing traffic, reducing emissions, and connecting different communities together.
